Upon arrival at Maun Airport under your own arrangements you will meet your pilot and transfer by light aircraft to Moremi Crossing, a 20 minute low level journey. As you fly over the Delta you can see the intricate twisting and turning of the waterways and the ever-changing colours as dry land meets Delta. Accommodation is provided in 16 East African style safari tents with en-suite bathrooms featuring the latest in waste disposal and solar technology.
Each tent has a private veranda. The camp is well shaded and facilities include a spacious dining area and swimming pool. Your days will be spent exploring the area in traditional dug-out canoes, subject to water levels, poling through the low level floodplains the surround the adjacent islands whilst in search if wildlife and walks on nearby islands with your poler/guide. In addition there are motor boat excursions water levels permitting. At times when the Delta channels are too low for safe mokoro excursions, the emphasis will be on exciting guided walks through the bush in search of the many wildlife species that make this area their home.
On a typical day you will take a morning activity, returning to camp for a hearty lunch and a siesta break from the heat of the day. Later in the afternoon you will set off for another excursion returning to camp by sunset. There are many species to be found in this area and although they are often elusive you may hope to see signs of hippo, crocodile, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, zebra, many antelope, lion, leopard and perhaps even wild dog and rhino which were reintroduced into the Delta a few years ago. Please note that mokoro activities may be restricted during January to May due to low water levels. All meals & activities included.
This beautiful camp is located on Pom Pom Island in a private concession situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta and on the head waters of the Xudum river system. The area lies on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve and offers superb Okavango scenery and a true Okavango wilderness experience.
Accommodation consists of nine luxury safari tents in true traditional safari style, all with full en-suite semi open ablution facilities. The main building is attractively designed and constructed of thatch and canvas and comprises lounge, dining, bar and pool areas, as well as a gift shop and the boma area.
Activities include game drives, night drives, mokoro trips and walks. Game viewing is of the best offered in the Delta. Guests have the opportunity of seeing all major predators, a variety of big game and plains game, as well as an abundance of bird life. All meals & activities included.
Located on the edge of Kasane, close to the entrance to Chobe National Park, the Safari Lodge offers comfortable rooms at affordable prices in one of Botswana’s prime wildlife areas. Accommodation is in luxurious river or safari rooms with air conditioning overlooking the river. The pool and bar area overlook the rolling Chobe river from where you can enjoy afternoon, sunset boat cruises or a spot of fishing. Dinner is served outside from a large buffet after which you can enjoy a last drink before retiring to bed.
Activities consist of 4x4 game drives within Chobe National Park, boat cruises on the Chobe River or leisurely fishing trips. The Chobe National Park is at the heart of the complex. A vast reserve of about 12, 000 square kilometres, it is for the most part flat and sparsely wooded. Chobe is said to contain the highest concentration of elephants in the world, with an estimated winter population of around 46,000. That's more than two per square kilometre!
The wildlife viewing is renowned, and makes this area a prime tourist destination. The annual zebra migration in May is a special feature of the area, but the visitor may see a wide range of antelope including sable, roan, oribi, reedbuck, and the strikingly colourful Chobe bushbuck, which has much stronger white markings than those found further south. Small herds of lechwe can be found on the grassy floodplains, and this is the only area south of the Zambezi River where puku can be seen. Giraffe and warthog are common, and lion occur throughout the area. All meals & activities included, plus day trip to Victoria Falls.
Today you will be collected by a transfer company and drive to Kasane Airport to connect with your onward flight (own arrangements).
