Land at Cape Town International airport and pick up your hire car to drive to your guest house in the Greenpoint suburb for the next three nights. The Jambo Guest House is a small and peaceful establishment, situated within easy walking distance of the Victoria & Albert waterfront and many restaurants and shops. Over the next three days, relax and enjoy this cosmopolitan city, visit the many museums, art galleries & markets or explore Robben Island and the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens . A trip up to Table Mountain is a must. Breakfast included.

You have a short drive today through picturesque scenery to the town of Stellenbosch, South Africa's premier wine producing region. You will stay at Rusthuiz Guest House, located close to the centre of this beautiful old university town. Each of the rooms are individually decorated and have air conditioning and TV. The swimming pool provides an ideal place to relax, and restaurants & shops are within easy walking distance. From here you can organise wine tours to visit some of the many vineyards in the area. Drop your hire car off and fly today from Cape Town to Windhoek . Land in Windhoek , collect your hire vehicle and transfer to your accommodation at Rivendell Guest House, located in a quiet suburb close to the city centre. Stay in a twin room with en-suite bathroom facilities. Explore the shops and restaurants of the city. Breakfast included.

Set off this morning for the dunes of the Namib Desert, near Sesriem and Sossusvlei. The drive should take approximately 5 hours and you will arrive at Desert Homestead guest farm this afternoon. This beautifully decorated and friendly establishment has a bar, restaurant and pool, optional horse riding or nature drives within this spectacular area can be arranged. On the morning of day 8, wake early to drive the +/- 90km through Sesriem and the dune fields to Sossusvlei. Most of the road from the National Park gates is on tar, the last 5km are sandy 4x4 roads. Explore the dunes around the saltpan of Sossusvlei, and maybe walk across the sand to Dead Vlei, a bizarre collection of ancient camelthorn trees and a photographers dream. Breakfast & dinner included.

  Continue your journey by heading northwards this morning, through mountain passes to Walvis Bay and on to Swakopmund. This town is a picturesque resort with many good seafood restaurants and shops as well as an interesting museum and aquarium. You will stay for two nights in Sea Breeze, a lovely and very friendly guest house located on the beach overlooking the Atlantic Ocean . Breakfasts included. A highly recommended optional day trip to the marine sanctuary of Sandwich Harbour can also be included, just ask for details.

You will drive north today, along the coast road maybe making a diversion to Cape Cross to visit the largest fur seal colony in Southern Africa. Turning inland towards Damaraland, you will travel past the Brandberg, Namibia's highest mountain, to Twyfelfontein Country Lodge. The drive should take approximately 4 hours, maybe take an excursion to the Twyfelfontein rock etchings and paintings this afternoon. This area is covered in numerous fascinating examples of San rock art and is well worth a visit where a local guide will explain the area to visitors. Breakfast & dinner included.

Depart this morning for your drive to Etosha National Park, Namibia's premier wildlife reserve. You may like to take a look at the Petrified Forest on your way, a bizarre collection of largely intact gymnosperm trees which were preserved and transformed into stone by anaerobic conditions. Your drive through Etosha's southern gate and into Okaukuejo rest camp should take approximately 3 hours. Okaukuejo is located inside Etosha National Park and offers excellent game viewing opportunities at the floodlit waterhole. You will be staying for two nights in individual chalets with basic self-catering facilities. The rest camp also has a restaurant, shop and swimming pool. Enjoy self-drive game excursions through the Park. Breakfast included.

  Make a leisurely drive across Etosha today, stopping at the waterholes as you drive. Perhaps stop at the central rest camp of Halali for lunch and a break from the midday sun before continuing to Namutoni, the site of an old German fort and Etosha's eastern most camp. Namutoni offers the same facilities as Okaukuejo. Dinner and breakfast included.

Waterberg Wilderness Lodge is situated in a valley at the foot of Waterberg plateau. The lodge is surrounded by the national nature conservancy of Waterberg National Park which is home to a number of threatened species such as buffalo, rhino, leopard, vulture and other antelope. It is also a haven for over 200 species of birds. The Waterberg Wilderness Lodge is situated on the farm Otjosongombe which extends from the foot of the Waterberg up to the plateau, therefore the lodge is the only one in the Waterberg region and can offer its guests guided hiking tours the Waterberg Plateau. This is a small, friendly lodge which can only accommodate 20 guests in its ten rooms. Dinner, breakfast & a guided walk included.

Depart Waterberg and travel back to Windhoek, a journey of around 3.5 hours. Arrive in time to connect with your return flight to Cape Town.
