  • [?]Day 1: Maun

Fly into Maun today, the safari capital of Botswana, and transfer to Tree Lodge.  Motsentsela Tree Lodge is a small luxurious lodge ideally situated away from the bustle of Maun, perfect for the more discerning traveller on their way to or from the Delta.

Guided or self-guided bush walks are conducted around the 200 hectare game farm where guests may hope to see zebra, giraffe, kudu, duiker, jackal, ostrich, impala and several nocturnal species including aardwolf.  Additional activities including a village visit, scenic flights or horse riding can also be arranged from the lodge. Dinner & breakfast included.

  • [?]Day 2 to 4: Makgadikgadi Pans

Transfer back to Maun airport this morning for a light aircraft charter flight to Leroo La Tau, situated on the border of the Makgadikgadi Pan.

Leroo La Tau accommodates 24 guests in luxurious en-suite chalets, each raised on an individual raised wooden platform.  The main lounge and dining area offers guests the opportunity to sit back and relax at the bar while listening to the wide variety of night sounds so characteristic of the African bush.  Alternatively you can lounge around the pool while appreciating the herds of zebra and wildebeest which are often seen around the lodge grounds and the waterhole.  The lodge offers both day and night drives.

The main reception and lounge area of Leroo La Tau is located on the top of these cliffs, so the raised vantage point ensures unsurpassed views of these desert inhabitants as they congregate below to quench their thirst.

Most unique however, are the crocodiles and an amazing pod of hippo which have survived in extremely adverse conditions for over 12 years.  All meals, local beverages and activities included.

  • [?]Day 5 to 6: Moremi Game Reserve

Depart from Leroo this morning and take a light aircraft charter across the Okavango Delta's maze of waterways to the Xakanaxa area of the Moremi Game Reserve. This luxurious lodge is one of the few to be located inside the Game Reserve and as such enjoys a prime position in one of Africa's most exciting wildlife areas. Relax around the bar or swimming pool before taking part in an afternoon game drive or boat cruise and dining this evening in the traditional thatch dining area, overlooking Xakanaxa Lagoon.

The following morning, take an early game drive with a professional Camp Moremi guide to explore this amazing area. Enjoy the variation in the local environment, from expansive, open floodplains and shallow lakes to dense mopane woodland. Return to camp for a sumptuous brunch and relax during the heat of the day before setting out again this afternoon for another game drive. Accommodation is in luxurious en-suite Meru style tents which are raised on teak decks and secluded in the woodland fringe, overlooking the Xakanaxa Lagoon. All meals, local beverages and activities included.

  • [?]Day 7 to 8: Okavango Delta

Transfer by light aircraft to Xugana Lodge, located on a remote island in the depths of the pristine Okavango Delta.

You will arrive at Xugana in time for brunch or a late lunch, followed by a siesta and a late afternoon activity.  Activities here take the form of slow paced mokoro (dug out canoe) excursions in the shallow waters close to the island, motor boat cruises through the nearby channels and exciting game walks on the surrounding islands.

Enjoy dinner in the thatched dining room overlooking the lagoon, or outside under the stars if the weather is good.  Perhaps listen for grazing hippos later in the evening while enjoying the ambiance of after dinner drinks around the campfire.  The following morning, rise early for a light breakfast before setting off in a motor boat to one of the surrounding islands where you will explore the area on foot with your guide.  Walking in Africa is an exhilarating experience and the perfect way to learn about the unique ecosystem that supports such a wide variety of flora & fauna.  You will walk in small groups and your guide will explain fascinating facts about animal behaviour, vegetation and culture as you walk.  Accommodation here is in eight spacious thatched chalets, each with a view into the surrounding island fringe. All meals, local beverages and activities included.

  • [?]Day 9 to 10: Savuti, Chobe National Park

Continue your journey northwards today and fly from the Delta into the Chobe National Park, famous for the large herds of elephant and equally large variety of wildlife. You will stay at Savuti Safari Lodge, located on the edge of the dry Savuti channel. This fascinating area used to be a lush Eden with water flowing from the Linyanti in the north, via the Savuti channel to the Savuti marsh and providing habitat for huge pods of hippo.

The Savuti channel has periodically dried up throughout history, and water only started flowing here again in 2010 after 20 years, tectonic movement is probably responsible for this sporadic flow. The wildlife here remains amazingly varied and enormous herds of migrating zebra may be seen during April/ May as well as all the species found in the Moremi Reserve.

Accommodation is in spacious, thatched chalets overlooking the Savuti channel where a pumped waterhole provides sustenance for the hundreds of elephants found in this area, as well as to occasional lion, wild dog and hyena! Enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives through this area. All meals, local beverages and activities included.

  • [?]Day 11 to 12: Chobe National Park

Continue your journey today by flying across the Chobe National Park, to Kasane and the Chobe River front where you will be transferred to the houseboat. The newly established houseboats are an exciting addition to Ichingo Lodge’s portfolio.

Each of the two boats (Moli & Mukwae) come equipped with a full compliment of staff including a chef, and each of the four spacious twin/double en-suite rooms allow guests to unwind and enjoy the river experience.  Tender boats ferry guests to nearby islands or more remote areas of the mainland, whilst the houseboat sedately navigates stretches of both the Chobe & Zambezi.  Game viewing from the river can be spectacular, so relax and enjoy sipping sundowners whilst listening to the haunting call of the Fish Eagle, and the cumbersome grunt of the hippo.  All meals & activities included.

  • [?]Day 13 to 14: Livingstone, Vic Falls

Take a flight today from Savuti to Kasane from where you will connect with a road transfer from Botswana across the border to Livingstone and the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls. Stay for two nights in the luxurious Royal Livingstone Hotel, located directly on the banks of the Zambezi overlooking the Falls. Enjoy a visit to the spectacular Falls themselves, and maybe take part in some of the many optional activities on offer here including scenic flights, boat cruises on the Zambezi and many adventure activities. Breakfast and unlimited entrance to the Falls included.

  • [?]Day 15: Fly out of Livingstone

Take an inclusive road transfer to Livingstone airport today in time to connect with your onward flight.
