  • [?]Day 1: Maun

As this itinerary is largely inclusive of activities and meals there are few optional extras that can be included in a wedding present list. However, we suggest that you ask us for a breakdown of activity & meal costs so that friends & family can buy you a mokoro excursion, 4x4 game drive, motor boat birding cruise or a romantic bush dinner etc. Alternatively we can include some optional activities which are available in Livingstone such as a helicopter or micro-light flip over the Falls, bungi jumping, white water rafting or an elephant back safari.

Fly into Maun today, the safari capital of Botswana, and transfer to Tree Lodge.  Motsentsela Tree Lodge is a small luxurious lodge ideally situated away from the bustle of Maun, perfect for the more discerning traveller on their way to or from the Delta.

The lodge caters for a maximum of 18 guests and accommodation is in spacious, meru style tents with en-suite facilities as well as two lovely Honeymoon suites.

Guided or self-guided bush walks are conducted around the 200 hectare game farm where guests may hope to see zebra, giraffe, kudu, duiker, jackal, ostrich, impala and several nocturnal species including aardwolf.  Additional activities including a village visit, scenic flights or horse riding can also be arranged from the lodge. Dinner & breakfast included.

  • [?]Day 2 to 3: Moremi Game Reserve

Depart from Maun this morning and take a light aircraft charter across the Okavango Delta's maze of waterways to Moremi Game Reserve.

Your short flight across the Delta will introduce you to this vast landscape of winding channels, islands and floodplains which are home to a huge variety of wildlife species.

After landing at Xakanaxa airstrip you will be escorted on a short game drive through the Park to Camp Okuti, just a few kilometres away. Okuti caters for a maximum of 18 guests, accommodation in insect-proofed units each with en-suite bathroom.  The lodge is set amidst the wilderness of Botswana’s prime Game Reserve.

Your days will be spent exploring in the open safari vehicles, searching for game in the diverse areas of the game reserve which vary from open floodplains to belts of mopane woodland.  Motor boat excursions on Xakanaxa Lagoon and beyond are also offered, these are a wonderful opportunity for birding.  Your typical day will offer a morning and afternoon activity, returning to camp for meals and a siesta in the heat of the day. All meals, local beverages, laundry, transfers & activities included.

    Lodge: Okuti
  • [?]Day 4 to 5: Okavango Delta

Transfer by light aircraft to the heart of the Okavango Delta today.  Shinde is nestled on a lush palm dotted island in the heart of the northern Delta.  Located at the edge of a lagoon, it is surrounded by clear waterways, which flow over yellow sands and past palm-fringed islands teeming with birdlife and game.  This is a photographer's delight. Its remoteness has ensured that the wildlife has not been subject to the pressures of mass tourism.

The island is especially favoured by members of the antelope family, including the elusive sitatunga whose elongated and splayed hooves enable it to walk on the unstable beds of reeds floating on the water.

Our well-equipped delta craft will take you on an interesting trip where you will see fascinating breeding colonies of herons, egrets, pelicans and storks.  Your guide will also arrange bush walks to show you the smaller aspects of this unique ecosystem including the fascinating insects, as well as a wide variety of bird life and game.  In addition there are day and night 4x4 game drives to be enjoyed, and fishing is a popular pastime especially during the winter.  Shinde's abundant wildlife and the silent waters of the Okavango combine to make your stay a rare experience indeed!  All meals, local beverages, laundry, transfers & activities included.

  • [?]Day 6 to 7: Savuti, Chobe National Park

Continue your journey today and fly into the Chobe National Park, famous for the large herds of elephant and equally large variety of wildlife.  This fascinating area used to be a lush Eden with water flowing from the Linyanti in the north, via the Savute channel to the Savuti marsh and providing habitat for huge pods of hippo.

The Savute channel has periodically dried up throughout history, water only started flowing here again in 2010 after 20 years of nothing, tectonic movement is probably responsible for this sporadic flow.  The wildlife here remains amazingly varied and enormous herds of migrating zebra may be seen during April/ May as well as all the species found in the Moremi Reserve.  Savute can also be a good area for cheetah, leopard, wild dog and lion sightings due to the large open spaces and rocky outcrops.

Accommodation is in spacious, thatched chalets overlooking the Savute channel where a pumped waterhole provides sustenance for the hundreds of elephants found in this area, as well as to occasional lion, wild dog and hyena!  Enjoy early morning and late afternoon 4x4 game drives through this area.  All meals, local beverages, laundry, transfers & activities included.

  • [?]Day 8 to 10: Chobe National Park

Fly onwards again to Kasane. The luxurious Chobe Chilwero is situated in the Kasane Forest Reserve bordering the legendary Chobe National Park with splendid views across the Chobe River which is famed for its sunsets and the huge concentrations of elephant that come down to the water's edge to drink.

Luxury cottages with lounge area, bedroom, bathroom & private veranda are designed to blend in perfectly with the topography and natural vegetation of the surrounding area. The lodge also boasts a swimming pool, well-stocked library, wine cellar, gift shop and e-communications centre. In-room health and beauty treatments are available.

Wildlife activities are scheduled according to the wishes of guests and the changing habits of the game. Professional guides lead game drives in open 4x4 game viewing vehicles and on water safaris by motorboat. A late afternoon boat cruise heading directly towards the sunset as elephant, hippo, buffalo and a profusion of bird life grace the banks of the river as they quench their thirst is a memorable experience. All meals, transfers & activities included.

  • [?]Day 11 to 13: Livingstone, Vic Falls

Transfer back to Kasane today and onwards to Livingstone in Zambia by road & river.  Tongabezi is a luxurious and unique upmarket lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River, just upstream of the Victoria Falls.  It is perfect for the discerning traveller seeking an unforgettable African holiday.  Accommodation is provided in 10 houses or cottages.  Each house has sweeping views of the mighty Zambezi River and spacious sleeping and living areas.

There is so much to do in and around Livingstone and inclusive activities from the lodge consist of sunrise and sunset boat trips on the Zambezi, guided canoe excursions, island lunch with guided walk, fishing with equipment provided, a visit to the Falls on the Zambian side (entry fees not included), a game drive in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park (entry fees not included), a walk in the gorges below the Falls, cultural visit to the Livingstone museums (entry fees not included) or a shopping trip on the Zambian side of the Falls.  There are also many optional adventure activities which can be arranged through the lodge.

Enjoy the lush vegetation and spectacular views across the Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River.  The wildlife in this area is excellent and guests can often spot elephant coming to the river to drink, or listen to the grunts of hippo in the early evening.  All meals & activities included.

    Lodge: Tongabezi
  • [?]Day 14: Fly out of Livingstone

Take an inclusive road transfer to the airport today to meet your onward connection. We are also able to assist with booking flights into Maun and out of Livingstone should you so require.
