In addition, there are many adventure activities such as sand boarding, tandem parachuting, fishing & quad biking which can be arranged prior to arrival. We can also recommend some excellent day trips including the marine sanctuary of Sandwich Harbour, a unique environment comprising towering dunes, a freshwater lagoon and the wild Atlantic Ocean. This beautiful camp is located on Pom Pom Island in a private concession situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta and on the head waters of the Xudum river system. In addition there are motor boat excursions water levels permitting. At times when the Delta channels are too low for safe mokoro excursions, the emphasis will be on exciting guided walks through the bush in search of the many wildlife species that make this area their home.
There are many species to be found in this area and although they are often elusive you may hope to see signs of hippo, crocodile, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, zebra, many antelope, lion, leopard and perhaps even wild dog and rhino which were reintroduced into the Delta a few years ago. Please note that mokoro activities may be restricted during January to May due to low water levels. All meals & activities included + laundry & most beverages.
