Details: Self-drive accommodated safari inclusive of zero excess 2x2 air-conditioned Toyota Corolla vehicle hire (upgrade to a 2x4 air-conditioned Avanza/ 4x4 Hilux for an additional charge), vehicle drop off fee, accommodation in 3 star lodges, chalets or guest houses on the meal basis stated, route map & 24 hour support.

Days 1-3: Cape Town
 

Land at Cape Town International airport and pick up your hire car to drive to your guest house in the Greenpoint suburb where you will stay for the next three nights. The Jambo Guest House is a small and peaceful establishment, situated within easy walking distance of the Victoria & Albert waterfront and many restaurants and shops. Over the next three days, relax and enjoy this cosmopolitan city, visit the many museums, art galleries & markets or explore Robben Island and the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens . A trip up to Table Mountain is a must. Breakfasts included.

Days 4 &5: Stellenbosch
 

You have a short drive today through picturesque scenery to the town of Stellenbosch, South Africa's premier wine producing region. You will stay at Rusthuiz Guest House, located close to the centre of this beautiful old university town. Each of the rooms are individually decorated and have air conditioning and TV. The swimming pool provides an ideal place to relax, and restaurants & shops are within easy walking distance. From here you can organise wine tours to visit some of the many vineyards in the area. Breakfasts included.

Days 6&7: Hermanus

Today you have a scenic drive along the coast to Hermanus, the whale watching capital of South Africa. The best time for seeing the many whales which come to calve in these waters is from mid June to November. During this time, the whales often come within metres of the shore and sightings are spectacular. The Auberge Burgundy is a lovely guest house overlooking the ocean with a swimming pool, quiet rooms and a restaurant next door offering superb seafood and a relaxing ambience. Walks along the coastal pathways are lovely, and there are many clean and peaceful beaches nearby. The Fernkloof Nature Reserve hosts an amazing variety of the endemic Fynbos species, don't miss the carpets of colourful fynbos which cover this steep sided valley, the view of the ocean from the hiking trails is spectacular! Breakfasts included.

Day 8 : Oudtshoorn
 

You will drive further up the beautiful Garden Route today, and inland a short distance to Outdshoorn. This area is well known for ostrich farming and is also close by to the Cango Caves. You will stay at the working farm of De Oude Meul. Breakfast included.

Days 9&10: Knysna
 

A short drive will bring you back to the coast and to the historic town of Knysna with remnants of ancient forest and a peaceful lagoon. You will stay at the Graywood Hotel, a beautiful hotel made of timber and with a swimming pool. Enjoy an optional trip on the Knysna steam train or one of the lagoon ferries, both of which offer a unique perspective of this environment. Breakfasts included.

Days 11&12: Tsitsikamma
  A little further from Knysna is Tsitsikamma, a tranquil area of forest, ocean front and sparkling mountain streams. You will stay at the Tsitsikamma Lodge, situated at the foot of the mountains and surrounded by lush gardens. Each log cabin has a private veranda, BBQ area, TV, telephone and a luxurious spa bath. A restaurant provides excellent home cooked meals, and there is also a bar and swimming pool. Many forest walks can be taken from here, and a whole range of activities can be arranged including hiking, mountain biking and canoeing. Breakfasts included.
Day 13: Port Elizabeth
  You have a slightly longer drive along the coast today to Port Elizabeth, a friendly city built on steep hillsides overlooking Algoa Bay . You will stay at the King's Tide guest house, a small guest house offering warm hospitality and excellent service. The en-suite rooms provide the perfect base from which to enjoy the final night of your holiday. Breakfast included.
Day 14: Fly out
  You will drop your hire car off at the airport today and fly from Port Elizabeth to your onward destination (flight not included).
